The second day crosses the river into Trastevere, but slowly, looking beyond postcard Rome.
Reaching Trastevere
From Studio Paolina, walk to the Cavour/Annibaldi area and take Bus 75 toward Trastevere. Get off near Trastevere/Ministero Pubblica Istruzione.
Santa Cecilia in Trastevere
Begin at Santa Cecilia in Trastevere, a peaceful basilica with a gentle, contemplative atmosphere. Its quiet spaces and cloister make it a beautiful first stop for couples looking for calm and beauty.
Piazza San Cosimato
Continue to Piazza San Cosimato, where local life moves at its own rhythm. In the morning especially, it feels authentic rather than staged, with market activity, neighborhood voices, and the easy cadence of Roman daily life.
Lunch
Have lunch at Taverna Romana Dall’Oste, a warm and unfussy place for traditional Roman dishes.
Orto Botanico di Roma
In the afternoon, slow down inside the Botanical Garden of Rome, where shaded paths, bamboo groves, and hidden corners create one of the city’s most unexpectedly romantic escapes.
Sunset at Gianicolo
Toward evening, walk up to Gianicolo Hill, one of the most poetic panoramic viewpoints in Rome. The light here at sunset softens the whole skyline, turning domes, rooftops, and church towers into a golden silhouette.
Dinner and Return
Finish the day with dinner at Osteria der Belli, then return to Studio Paolina by Bus 75 or taxi.
Public Transport Notes
Bus 75 is the most practical connection from the Studio Paolina area to Trastevere.
Return options include Bus 75, taxi, or a mixed bus/walk route depending on the time of evening.
